During these challenging times of turbulent weather and turbulent politics, the wisdom of poet, activist, and farmer Wendall Berry provides helpful perspective. As often happens, an article appears in my inbox or in my seemingly endless pile of articles “to be read” that speaks to questions or concerns that have been on my mind. And so it was recently when I read the DailyGood article on “Caretaking”. This article is actually a conversation between Wendall Berry and Helena Norberg-Hodge, two well-known advocates for local economies and food systems.
Please read the entire article as you have time/interest. These words from Wendall Berry especially spoke to me: “The standard that I always come back to is the health of the world, which is the same as our own personal health. We can’t distinguish our health from the health of everything else.”
